06/26/17 - on 06/24/16 owner presented cat to MACC in lateral recumbency. History per owner is strong suspicion that cat has eaten pieces of plastic and rubber items such as nipples from baby bottles and plastic baggies as these items are missing from her home. She also reports unsure of eating/drinking or using litter box as the cat has been hiding lately. She is unsure of history of vomiting. She reports finding him today in current state. Upon exam- cat is in lateral recumbency with neck extended and all 4 limbs extended. Mucous membranes are pale and ears are cold to the touch. Abdomen is soft and empty. BCS= 3/9; Pain score 4/5. Explained to owner that given the history she has given and the current clinical signs- the prognosis is grave and recommended humane euthanasia. She agreed and the cat was humanely euthanized.
