5/05/17 - Cat is depressed- ~ 10% dehydrated- gums pink- all four canine teeth are worn/broken with gingivitis at roots- almost no incisors; HR=80 bpm- no murmur noted- purring loudly- lungs sound clear- no masses palpated- abdomen feels doughy; no external signs of trauma noted and no pain elicited on palpation. BCS = 3/9. Admin 100 cc LRS SQ. Tested NEGATIVE on FeLV/FIV blood test.
05/06/17- Presented this am in lateral recumbency in kennel. Moved to sternal to examine and vomited copious amount of malodorous tan liquid. Purring loudly- decreased heart rate- elevated respiratory rate. Abdomen palpation soft- fluid within intestines and likely free in peritoneal cavity. Rechecked several hours later- condition is deteriorating. Cat is unable to right itself. limbs extended- and is open- mouth breathing. Occasionally vocalizes and continues to purr excessively- both signs of pain. Because of the very poor prognosis and signs of suffering- this cat was humanely euthanized.
