Gave slow-release buprenorphine for pain (0.18ml- 3mg/ml- given SQ LR). Needs xrays for possible spinal injury. OK per 040 to go for xrays at Camden. Brief exam - became mildly fractious/swatting. History of probable human-inflicted trauma- suspect damage to spinal cord and/or nerves. BAR- urine on towel- cat is laying in clean litterbox. Appears to have eaten kibble. Is capable of bearing weight on rear limbs but is very weak in ambulation and will flop down onto his side. Superficial (toe pinch) pain is present in L rear limb - did not test R rear. Hyperesthetic over dorsum- hindquarters- and rear limbs.
