When I impounded the puppy- it was in a mesh pop-up cage lying on top of a pee pad. It had recently been raining and the puppy was not wet at all- though RP claimed she found it outside. I again asked RP if the dog was hers and she said 'no'. I smelt what appeared to smell like a strong odor of parvo coming from the puppy- as well as what appeared to be blood in the puppy's urine. The puppy did not intially appear alive when I first glanced at it- but when I went to pick it up- it was still breathing- though it was very labored. I told RP the puppy was dying of parvo and likely would not make it and that she should clean whatever areas the dog was in with diluted bleach and water. I transported the puppy to MACC- where Supervisor humanely euthanized the dog.
