Mouth/Teeth - Severe dental calculus and gingivitis; several missing and fractured teeth Ears - Mild-moderate erythema AU; dark brown waxy debris and yeasty odor AU Eyes/Nose - Severe/obvious glaucoma OU with "coning" of globes- expohthalmus- markedly hyperemic sclera and neovascularization across corneal surface OU- hypermature cataracts visible OU; blind OU Heart/Lung - Unable to auscult whether heart murmur is present due to trembling; normal heart rhythm; increased BV sounds all lung fields GI - No obvious abnormality Reproductive - No obvious abnormality Skin /Hair coat - Multiple small dermal and subcutaneous masses all over body; saliva staining x 4 paws; severely long nails x 4 paws- with nails curling around and splaying toes laterally or medially Musculoskeletal - Unable or unwilling to walk; very stiff hips and knees; markedly thickened stifles bilaterally with noted medial buttress- suspect previous CCL injury both stifles; markedly decreased ROM of both hips; marked muscular atrophy of rear limbs. Neurologic - No obvious abnormality Recommend humane euthanasia- as this dog is undoubtedly in severe pain- with very many painful health issues- and is not a good anesthetic candidate for bilateral enucleation and dental cleaning/extractions- which would be the emergency treatment best applied at this time.

This dog is in very poor condition. Blind and runs into walls of kennel- seems deaf- does not respond well to noises. Was apparently matted and someone tried to shave coat. Nails are extremely long and curling around. Mouth is bad with broken teeth. Eyes appear to have glaucoma and are bulging out. Unable to listen to heart due to trembling. Thickened stifles and stiff hips. Several masses including hip and chest area. This dog is most likely living in pain due to eyes and would need them both enucleated (taken out)- but at 15yrs old she is not a good anesthetic candidate. The most humane thing for this dog is euthanasia.
