02/24/18 13:06 BAR- hisses and growls but does not offer to bite; did well using towel for exam Mouth/Teeth - No obvious abnormality- mm pink Ears - No obvious abnormality Eyes/Nose - No obvious abnormality; PLR- WNL Heart/Lung - No obvious abnormality; HR=220 bpm- RR= 30 rpm; diminish femoral pulses in both rear limbs- worse on right; trimmed one nail short on both rear limbs- nail on right did not bleed GI - No obvious abnormality; full bladder- manually expressed Reproductive - No obvious abnormality Skin /Hair coat - front feet dirty- general coat and skin WNL; adult fleas noted- treated with topical Revolution Musculoskeletal - nonambulatory in rear; no palpable broken bones in rear limbs; assisted PROM normal in rear limb joints Neurologic - absent CP's in both rear limbs; positive withdrawal in both rear limbs Elected not to administer SR buprenorphine as cat does not appear painful at this time and to maintain ability to assess neurological clinical signs. Will monitor pain and neuro signs daily Generally good appetite this am- ACT's aware of placing food appropriate for access.

This cat is not in good condition. Unable to ambulate (walk around). Continues to lay in position it was placed. Hissy but not trying to bite. Does not appear to be eating well. Previous notes state the cat is unable to urinate on own. Not placeable and recommend possible early humane euthanasia due to condition that requires round the clock care.

02/26/18 - cat's condition is significantly worse today; cat is moribund- in lateral recumbency with front legs and neck rigidly extended; extremeties are cold; absent withdrawal reflex on all 4 limbs; given the progression of neurologic signs- the prognosis for recovery is grave. Performed humane euthansia to end cat's suffering.
