5/17/18 | null | null | null | 5/17/18- Today this dog got loose and went after another dog through the kennel door. The ACT tried using her foot to seperate them and Rocco bit her boot (no injuries) and then continued to go after the other dog. The ACT was able to use a bed and get Rocco into an empty kennel. He was so riled up that she decided to use a catch pole to move him back to his kennel vs a leash and he went after the catch pole and would not let go- essentially playing tug of war. I went in and while he was focused on the catch pole- i put a leash on him and we were able to seperate him from the catch pole. I then walked him back to KR and put him in a kennel. This dog is not a good candidate for placement due to his reactivity/aggression towards other dogs- redirecting to inanimate objects (ACTs foot)- and being so hyperfocused on things. This dog is a public safety risk if released. Recommend humane euthanasia. | null | null | null |

Continue soaking paw daily in warm dilute chlorhexadine solution for ~3-5 more days. Refill Rx Cephalexin 750mg PO BID x 7d (for total 14d Tx). | null | null | null |

Morphine- Carprofen- Penicillin- and intra-testicular Lidocaine were also administered at time of induction. A pre-scrotal closed castration was performed using 2-0 Securodox suture to double ligate the spermatic cords. The incision was closed using a simple continuous subcutaneous to intra-dermal suture pattern with 3-0 Maxon suture. An ink tattoo was placed lateral to the incision line. Dexmedetomidine was administed IV post-op for mild dysphoria during recovery. LF D3 medial cyst draining tract opened upon pressure being applied- serous discharge and a small amount of purulent discharge drained from cyst. There is still plenty of soft tissue swelling of digit. R/O abscess/foreign body (e.g.- grass awn). Rx Cephalexin 750mg PO BID x 7d.
