7/2/18 | null | null | null | Dog was presented approximately 18 hours post-mortem for examination of external anatomy to determine extent of injuries inflicted by two aggressor dogs immediately prior to owner-elected humane euthanasia. Body condition score = 5/9 (using scale where 1 = emaciated- 9 = morbidly obese- and 4 or 5 = normal body condition). Blood-soaked haircoat of entire ventrum and limbs. Mouth/Teeth - Moderate-marked dental calculus and ginigivitis. Moderate gingival hyperplasia. Bruising of gingiva in L upper arcade over premolars. Ears - Bruising around and in L ear. Small- superficial abrasion on distal interior R pinna. Reproductive - Large- firm- irregular- multi-lobed subcutaneous mass R middle mammary chain- ~ 8cm x 4cm with large puncture wound at caudal aspect. Soft subcutaneous mass- ~3x3cm- R cranial mammary region. Skin /Hair coat - R lateral stifle ~2x2cm- discoid- soft subcutaneous/intradermal mass with associated alopecia. ~5mm soft- wart-like pedunculated mass R aspect of vulva. Very long toenails. ~8mm soft- pedunculated skin tag at R elbow. Elbow calluses present bilaterally. Very large (~3cm diameter) pedunculated soft mass with narrow stalk (~3mm) medial to R cranial mammary mass described above. Impacted- inverted nipple - L cranial. Tiny wart-like dermal mass ventral L muzzle. Older scar- ~3cm in length- jagged and irregular- just vebtral to L lateral lower lip. Puncture wound at R mandible. Three large- deep puncture wounds at ventral neck in the laryngeal region. Very large laceration- ~5cm in length- at L lateral neck with associated bruising. Puncture wound located at R mammary chain- as described above. All pincture wounds are deep enough as to expose the underlying subcutaeous tissues- muscle- mammary mass tissue- etc. Musculoskeletal - Mild- generalized muscular atrophy- more pronounced in rear limbs. Unable to assess condition of joints on range of motion- as dog has entered rigor mortis (unable to manipulate joints). | INJURY-BITE WOUND | null | 5/9 |
