Cat presented as owner surrender and appeared to be in respiratory distress upon intake. After removing cat from carrier- it was determined that cat was merely showing signs of acute stress from being in a carrier in a car for about 45 minutes when he had never been transported thus previously. Signs which abated very soon after removing from carrier included: hyperptyalism and open-mouth breathing. Cat had soiled carrier with urine. MM color was pink- CRT < 2sec- H/L ausculted WNL- but each at elevated rates. Unable to check rectal temp due to fractiousness. Cat became fractious and growly soon after being removed from carrier. Became much calmer after placing in kennel- but still unable to handle.
Still not handleable. Hissing and would swat and or bite if given the chance. Not placeable- no need for eval.
