09/27/18 11:23 - ataxia noted by officer in field; brief exam due to fractious/painful behavior of cat; eyes dilated- mm pink; cat is able to use front limbs but unable to right itself; apparent rear limb weakness/paralysis. No frank blood noted on exam. Primary rule outs include spinal trauma and viral infection. Administered S-R buprenorphine (3 mg/mL) 0.13 mL SC RR Place in kennel for observation and exam as allowed by cat

09/27/18 - pain medications have allowed a brief exam; this is a female spayed (green tattoo ink present)- incision has recently healed- fur is growing back from previous shaving; no microchip located upon scan. Overall- cat is less painful but appears to be declining neurologically. Rear limbs- absent deep pain- unable to right herself- no interest in food Will continue to monitor. Consider humane euthanasia if clinical signs progress

09/28/18 11:33- cat's condition has significantly deteriorated. Pain management not effective- neurologic signs advancing in severity (lateral recembency- vocalizing when moved- opsothosonis front and rear limbs.) Scanned again for microchip- none located. Recommend humane euthanasia due to grave prognosis- deteriorating condition- and to end this cat's pain and suffering.
