Cat was found laying on a sidewalk- unable to walk. Cat is able to raise self up and bear weight briefly- but unable to use L rear limb. Bilateral rear limb muscular atrophy is marked. Estimated ~10-12% dehydrated. Mucous membranes are dry and pale- with petecchia noted at upper R arcade buccal surface and gingiva. R rear medial hock has deep abrasion/laceration with bone and tendons exposed. Performed humane euthanasia. Palpated rear limbs post-mortem: L stifle is markedly thickened- likely fractured with palapable evidence of remodeling; each half of pelvis can be moved independently with palpable crepitus- likley comlpete pelvic fracture.
